text run / text mcp require Bun

Text.js error TX019: `text …` requires Bun (route files are imported as TypeScript). Install Bun (https://bun.sh) or run `bunx --bun text …`.

Why this happens

text run and text mcp import your .tsx route files directly, which needs Bun's native TypeScript loader. Started with Node, the CLI re-runs itself with Bun when bun is on the PATH; this error means it is not.

How to fix it

Install Bun, or run the command with Bun directly:

bunx --bun text runbunx --bun text mcp

text dev, text build and text start work on Node.
